Another repeated fantastic experience at Sakana House Restaurant, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

We were thrilled to repeat our previous unique experiences with the special dinner event at Sakana restaurant to not only enjoy the fantastic atmosphere, music played, and very delicious high-quality eastern food prepared on our special request but also to enjoy the warmth of staff hospitality and efforts to see them running around to care of the guests particularly, Mr. Hamid, Mr. Khalid, Mr. Jomarie, Mr. Bhim, and Ms. Jha.

I take the opportunity to thank all of them for this lovely event. They are much appreciated.

Finally, our long overdue plan to try SAKANAs Sushi Sunday is done. The Staff (Jomarie, Julyva, Jhanine, Hanan, Jivan) is very accommodating and attentive. Service is in fact excellent. The ambiance is nice with good background music joined by a live violinist.

The Food presentation is great but Sushi Sunday offer would have been worth its price tag if all the advertised selection is always available and doesn’t run out. To be honest, it shouldn’t run out at all. This could be avoided (with meticulous planning for such a high-end hotel restautant) and customers should have been informed beforehand of such situation and not while in the course of having the meal. If done properly, this will genuinely show the restaurant’s transparency and give their customers time to decide. In addition, the waiting time for each order takes quite a while. This should be looked at seriously and should be improved.

I hope that our experience can help SAKANA to further improve their service and leave their Customers highly satisfied.

In general, it was a very pleasant experience. All the staff members were highly professional, especially the Tunisian brother, if I'm not mistaken. The food, in general, was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely.

Stayed in Grand Hyatt Hotel in Khobar for 2 days and I can say that the employees here are friendly, accommodating and they took customer service experience to the next level. Big thanks to Bhoj, Ben, Justin and Michelle! I also want to mention that The Sakana Restaurant serves the best prawns ever! Thanks to manager Paul for making sure everything is in order during my visit. All in all, ratings.

اول مادخلت مدري وش فيهم العمالة اللي عند البوابة كانوا يناظرون فينا بطريقة غير مريحة و من غير ترحيب و يوم جلسنا عالطاولة في جرسون فلبيني وكان صراحة قليل الادب و عابس وجهه مدري وش فيه
حسيت بعدم الترحيب وعدم الارتياح و عبوس الوجه و يبوني ادفع ١٧٠ ريال على سوشي فيها ٤ حبات علاوة على الخدمة السيئة وعدم القبول وهذا يعني المفروض يعتبر مطعم فخم

Food is pretty good, including some Japanese classics and some twists, and for their prices, it's definitely worth it. The atmosphere is chill and cool, Chef Denny is a piece of jewell in the place, the staff (Jomary-jivan) are also really friendly. You can tell that making the customers happy is their main priority.thank you so much you made the night exceptional.

الاكل جيد جدا عجبني. اسماء الاطباق معروفه ومتداولة بس الطعم والمكونات مختلفة شوي خاصة في الشوربة الميسو في بحريات والتام يام طماطية يزيادة.

السوشي رولز جيدين والتامبورة والداينمايت شريمب جيدين. وندوم سوب ممتازة والكاربتشينو السلمون افضل من التنونة.

السعر شوي مرتفع بس مناسب لهكذا اماكن

This place is definitely a must visit restaurant in khobar. 5 stars to the ambience, food and to the amazing team that made our stay extraordinary.

Wonderful and romantic atmosphere, great service and friendly staff, absolutely delicious and flavorful food.

Sakana House is an asian cuisine restaurant that offers a wide variety of dishes from appetizers to desserts, even their drinks are delicious. They offer both A la carte and a set menu, also sushi platters are available in different sizes. Can be a bit pricey for a big group, but worth it.

Recommend booking in advance.

I was very disappointed
The complementary seafood roll was good and the complementary drink was also nice

Other than that was just bad
The waiters although are friendly and trying to held but they were very slow and after waiting for a really long time for the main course it turned out to be wrong order, ai order the wagyu houba and was served very cold even with the candle under it. The creamy spicy shrimp was just average and too expensive for around >110 sr, the dragon roll also just average not good nor bad.
The worst was the pepper beef it was filled with soya sauce which made it too salty, the black piper was so hot and spicy that made us not eat being able to eat it this is coming from a person who is used to eat very spicy food but this dish was too spicy, the meat used in that dish was full of chewy un edible pieces and lumps of fat.
The music was too high and after asking to lower the volume they told me they not do anything about it

Today had a delightful dinner at Sakana, staff was great and attentive. Cuisine was excellent with a wide variety of fresh dishes. The food was excellent and cooked fresh after selection. Drinks were very well made. Mr LEO was very helpful and sweet and the entire team were very attentive and helped us feel very welcome and well treated. Thank you so much.

A must try for sushi lovers and lovers. Beautifully set inside the Hyatt hotel, the restaurant decor is contemporary, romantic and exotic at same time. Staff is very well trained and attentive from welcoming at door to table service. The food was simply perfect! We had the Sunday special chef's mix sushi plate. Everything was made of very fresh ingredients and prepared to perfection. Ambiance is very nice with music and live performance on some nights, perfect for couple's date night. We will definitely go back many times!

Experience was great from beginning to end. The hostess was delightful and showed me around the restaurant with options for where to sit. The manager visited my table several times and gave great descriptions and suggestions about menu items, waitress knows the menu by heart. The food was exceptional and the servers were very attentive. We ordered the California roll sushi and prawn dumplings for starters. These were very good and service was prompt. Then we did shrimp Cashew nut and vietnamese fried rice it was great as well, for the Juice my choice was slush Mango fresh juice:)

It is the best Asian and Japanese restaurant in Al Khobar

The restaurant has cozy ambiance that is good for intimate family time. The staff are very friendly and warm as well.

Wonderful place to have a romantic get-away in the desert. You pay for the experience and worthy food while listening to a live background music of a Ukrainian violinist. Devina will confirm your booking and be your receptionist and sous-chef Joseph will fill your stomach with great food.

Amazing food, place and vibe
I celebrated my graduation with my family and it was the best graduation dinner ever? Thanks a lot!

I had dinner in this restaurant good ambiance/interiors with live violist the music so romantic. The food and drinks are excellent but what made my dinner so special is sali our beautiful server.she had a pleasant personality very nice sense of humor and professional she was attending immediately to our needs and made the whole dinner experienced memorable.

Went for the sushi night on Monday and couldn’t have been more disappointed. Paid 260pp, on usual all you can eat dinners on this price range, you would expect a buffet with an endless selection or a menu you can chose from. Neither was given. It was a “chef’s choice” which is three items on a platter and they refill “until you can’t eat”. When I asked for something else as I didn’t like the choice they offered, it was limited and some of the items not tasty, I was told “we have some octopus and we can make sushi out of that”. It felt like getting whatever they had leftover and they packed it in the sushi Monday. The atmosphere was lovely, violinist amazing, maybe would give the restaurant a try again for a la carte, but very pricey and items small, so only on special portion. But was very disappointed from sushi Monday, very expensive for nothing.

I’ve only visited once, the food was good and the hospitality was even better. The only downfall of it is the strong smell of cooking when you pass the entrance, it was so strong, I had to change my table

My experience was wonderful ️️️ I came to have a birthday dinner with my best friend and everything was perfect. Delicious food, amazing staff, mood and hospitality! Can’t wait for my next visit

Great fine dining.

The food was very good and the quality is at the highest you’d expect.

We had tom yum soup, nigiri tuna & salmon (amazing). For the main dish, we had the lobster salad and the salmon teriyaki with fried rice.

Really the place is very nice to take your special someone for a nice date.

Highly recommended asian restaurant in al khobar, they served Japanese food, korean, Chinese, Indonesian and thai food in one restaurant.staff very knowledgable about the food, they all friendly even the manager she very kind, food was fantastic we ordered their wagyu steak and mie goreng for our main course most try very tasty and of course sushi because we love sushi, and they have a promo every monday sushi which is unlimited nigiri and maki roll, and don't forget to try gyoza dumpling was good.we definitely came back again to this restaurant.

Sakana House the Asian Restaurant
I went with my mother for dinner at Asian restaurant in the Grand Hyatt. When I arrived, I appeared to be the only patron there, which was lovely. I was given the choice of sitting anywhere in the dining area, and i chose a lovely corner with a view of the Khobar city.
I have to say the restaurant has a wonderful interior. Careful attenton has been paid to creating a space that looks luxurious, inviting, warm and with just the right amount of lighting.

The service was great! I was attended by Mr. Aakash Divedi he was an Indian, who made sure I had everything I needed. He was polite and courteous throughout my visit. Thank you so much Aakash.

This is my 3rd time to visit this place, all i can say i really enjoy my experienced in this restaurant from service to food was excellent thanks again sali for your good service highly recommeded asian restaurant.

The place was cozy but a bit too dim while accompanied to our table. Staff were very welcoming and took time to make us comfortable without being pushy with what they can offer. We ordered several tempting dishes to satisfy our cravings. Servings were reasonable but in general I found some of the dishes notably extra salty especially the Laksa and Shotoribu (less than a teaspoon rather than a pond of soy sauce is appreciated. Veggies were soggy) and the black pepper beef, too. Hoba wagyu would be much better if it was cooked as one piece, sliced and serve rather than sliced and cooked. Please include classic miso soup in the menu. Lastly, keep the music to a minimum, jazz or classical than pop.

Amazing restaurant everything was good me & my husband enjoyed our dinner, I had mi goreng and wagyu maki for maincourse and for starter had lamb satey absolutely delicious for sure will come back again.

I went here 3 days ago with my friends and we enjoy our dinner here. I love the food and the dishes and drinks here. I recommend creamy spicy shrimp, sushi dragon roll, California roll, gyoza dumplings, jagung goreng, tomyam, miegoreng noodles and kung pao prawn that we ordered It was all done well and taste good and don’t forgot to order dessert motchi was good but a little expensive but reasonable for the taste. Staff are professional as well I thank ziad for explaining about the concept of restaurant the place very cozy with live beautiful violist and ms.sali for good service and being attentive to our need she make sure everything okay on our table. I’ll visit again soon inshallah

Feb, 7/2022 update: see my previous 5 star review below. I’ve lowered my rating based on my visit on the Monday sushi night. The sushi was not fit for grocery store quality and a major departure from my previous experience. It seem they serve the low quality and left over fish on the unlimited sushi Monday. Would not try it again. If you go just order sushi from the menu.

What a wonderful experience. This has to be the best restaurant in the region. From decor to food and staff. If you don’t leave this place happy then there is something wrong with you.
The place oozes luxury commensurate with the hefty prices. The staff were fantastic and treated us like royalty. We tried multiple items including sushi and nothing disappointed.
Now I would usually deduct a star for very high prices but I believe the management succeeded in providing value for the money. We spent SR 600 per person but they have a special on Mondays where SR250/person gets you unlimited sushi and I will try it in the future.
I just hope they maintain the high caliber long term
